Fetovaia is located in the southwest of Elba Island, in the middle of the coastal strip of Costa del Sole.
Characterized by a long ridge with lush Mediterranean vegetation, along the coast with beaches that are protected from the most winds.
The beach looks like a half moon of sand (fine white granite sand) and is surrounded on both sides by rocks.
The origin of the name Fetovaia is controversial, but this bay has one of the most romantic stories. Previously the Bay was a very popular and well-visited place of female dolphins who gave birth in this shallow water with mild water temperatures.
Today we see the dolphins further away from the coast, while the coast has become a popular destination for nature and trekking lovers, mountain biking and lovers of good food... but the fans of the "sweet doing nothing" feel also very comfortable here.
Fetovaia is the home of nearly extinct lily (Pancratium maritimum), here it is protected in cooperation with the local association Legambiente and the Costa del Sole.
