Elba can be reached easily from Piombino, where three ferry companies are waiting for you. The ferries from Blue Navy, Moby Lines and Toremar offer several times a day a ride to Elba.

The 10 km long trip to Elba takes about 1 hour by ferry. You can ride to the port of Portoferraio, Porto Azzurro and Rio Marina.

There is also a hydrofoil only for passengers in just 20 minutes on the outskirts of Rio Marina and 15 minutes later in Portoferraio.

On the island, follow the signs to Marina di Campo (about 12 km from Portoferraio) and continue towards Fetovaia (9 km).

Near the port of Portoferraio is offering the taxi stand (tel. 0565 915 112) and Bus Stop ATL (toll-free number 800 317 709), the connections all over the island.

REACH THE ISLAND OF ELBA BY CAR:

      

From the North:
Highway A12 Genoa - Livorno, exit Rosignano.
Proceed along the Aurelia to Venturina – Isola d'Elba and continue to Piombino Marittima.

From the North-East:
Highway A1 Bologna - Florence West, then A11 to Pisa North, then A12, exit Rosignano.
Continue on the SS Aurelia until Venturina - Isola d 'Elba and from here to Piombino Marittima.
Alternatively, take the s.g.c. Florence - Pisa - Livorno, exit Firenze Scandicci and follow the road until Collesalvetti, then take the Rosignano A12, then you take the highway to Venturina and Piombino.

From the South:
S.S. Aurelia exit Venturina Isola d'Elba, Piombino Marittima.

TO REACH THE ISLAND OF ELBA BY TRAIN:

Piombino is only slightly from the Campiglia Marittima train station. Which connects Rome with Grosseto and Livorno with Pisa.
